Through the Community Payback initiative communities and community representatives are actively encouraged to nominate worthwhile projects.  Frequently these match community safety priorities associated with addressing the damage caused by anti-social behaviour and crime prevention.

In 2007-2008 the Team in partnership with a wide network of organisations and community groups completed 133,432 hours of work that would not otherwise been undertaken except by volunteer organisations.  This equates to over £774,000 worth of labour based on minimum hourly wage.
