North Wales Probation Area (NWPA) is one of 42 Areas in England and Wales and is part of the National Offender Management Service (NOMS). The Areas are divided into Wales and Regions and North Wales works within Wales. The North Wales Probation Board oversees the NWPA and is answerable to the Ministry of Justice.
Statement of Purpose
The North Wales Probation Area contributes to developing safer communities by ensuring that we carry out our primary responsibility for supervising offenders, using effective and tested methods of intervention which are successful in reducing offending and develop each individual’s potential to make a positive contribution to society. The Area is committed to working in partnership with others to achieve common goals which support community safety and social inclusion.
