Substance Misuse

Homeless, vulnerable teenager

The partnership / joint working platform broadly summarised is representative of a range of particular provisions associated with the core business of specific providers. 

SOVA - delivering:
  • Volunteer mentoring and provision across a range of personal need factors.
  • Day care support services for homelessness and substance misuse in Rhyl / Denbighshire (Dewi Saint).
  CAIS - delivering:
  • Range of substance misuse services including counselling and group work programmes.
  • Supported housing provision and move on facilities for people with substance misuse problems.
  • Alcohol education services.
  • De-toxification and rehabilitation services – residential (Hafen Wen and Tyn Rodyn).

Community Drug (and Alcohol) Team - delivering:

  • Treatment and testing provision in relation to drug rehabilitation requirements as part of the Criminal Justice Intervention Service.
  • Rapid access treatment clinics for users of the Drug Interventions Programme and Prolific and Priority Offenders.
  • Comprehensive range of community based treatment services including community de-toxification.
 Youth Offending Services - delivering:
  • Comprehensive multi-agency team services for young offenders and young people at risk of offending.
  • Currently North Wales teams are as follows:
    • Mon / Gwynedd
    • Conwy / Denbighshire
    • Flintshire
    • Wrexham
Drugs Intervention Programme - delivering:
  • Additional service capacity designed to improve the take up and sustained commitment of drug misusers in provision. Interventions focused on key points in systems, e.g. point of arrest, sentence, or release from custody in relation to offenders.
  • Commissioned service by the North Wales Drug Intervention Programme Board, provided by a consortium of agencies, i.e. CAIS, NACRO, North Wales Probation Area, North East and West Wales Health Trusts.
